Investigations

The Detectives are responsible for conducting in-depth investigations for crimes against people and property, juvenile crimes, and financial crimes.  After a Patrol Officer takes the initial report, the case is forwarded to the Investigations Division. Detectives are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are frequently notified in the event of a serious incident.  They receive specialized training to assist them in their assignment, and they often collaborate with other agencies on major investigations. Their main responsibilities include interviewing suspects, victims, and witnesses; executing search warrants and making arrests; analyzing information for accuracy, and preparing a factual case to be presented in court. As a group, they have received numerous awards for their dedicated service and excellent work.
