In an effort to better understand housing conditions and needs within Glen Ellyn, the Village embarked on a Housing Study this past fall.
The Village has engaged SB Friedman Development Advisors, LLC and The Lakota Group to complete the Study. A Steering Committee was also established to provide input on the process. For the past several months, the consultants have been collecting data on Glen Ellyn’s existing housing stock and conditions via neighborhood visits, “pop-up” events and a community-wide survey, which received over 700 responses. In April, the consultants will host multiple stakeholder meetings to gather additional input and data. The preliminary Study findings will be shared at a Community Open House in May.
Through this process, the Village hopes to learn more about housing related needs and challenges in the community. The findings of the Study will be used to inform future policy decisions about housing and development within the community.
