The Village is in the process of a multi-phased sewer televising and cleaning project. The initial phase, now concluding, included some of the larger diameter sanitary pipes within the Village. The next area of focus are sanitary lines in and along State and County roads that pass through the Village. These busy roads include:
- Roosevelt Road from the Wheaton border to Briar Street, on the east side of I-355
- Geneva Road from just west of Kenilworth to Main Street
- St. Charles Road from Main Street to Eastern
The contractor, National Power Rodding, will need to perform lane closures on an as needed basis to accomplish the work. The majority of this work is expected to take place during the day between the hours of 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. If necessary, the contractor may switch to nighttime cleaning for certain areas to reduce traffic issues.
Work will be starting as soon as Wednesday, December 18 on Roosevelt at the west side of the Village and proceed to the east. Lane closures are anticipated to start on Thursday, December 19. These temporary closures will vary in length with the amount of cleaning required and time necessary to televise the lines. Work is expected to continue until the end of January, but completion of the project may be delayed if unfavorable winter weather is encountered.
